I’ve been in a strip club by association maybe 3 times in my life. The misery and desperation observed is pretty depressing. I couldn’t imagine the scene in a town like Lake Charles.

Very bad lighting and lots of smoke just like every strip club.

It's a short drive up 171 to Leesville and the Pegasus Lounge. If you've never experienced a strip joint near a military post, you've never truly experienced a strip joint.

Good ole Pegasus Club…only bar I’ve ever been frisked at the door before entering.

"Ametures" is a common misspelling of "amateur," which refers to someone who engages in an activity for pleasure rather than as a profession.
The correct word is amateur, not "ametures"
. An amateur is a person who pursues a hobby, sport, or other activity for enjoyment or personal interest rather than for financial gain
. For example, an amateur photographer takes photos for pleasure, not as a paid profession

twominenglish.com
. The term can also imply a lack of professional skill, though it primarily emphasizes participation for love of the activity

Good ole Mike Longman...

We were in Lafayette for a buddy's wedding, election night when Mike Foster was running for Governor in 1996. We were all staying at the Hilton, where most of the news media was staying. In the hotel bar, I was grabbing a drink, and along comes Mike Longman, dude hit on me and offered to buy me a drink. I was like, thanks, but no thanks...

Who knows, the dude probably would roofied me or something...

There is no way a boy can go through puberty and adolescence with that name and not come out on the other side without some sexual baggage.

Even daughters carrying that surname would get it.

There's no DJ. Depending on what song you play on the jukebox, you could get a real spicy dance or a dud. Between the stretch marks and c-section scar is where you aim to put your dollar bill.

There used to be one in Sulphur back in the 90's. I think it was maybe called the Wagon Wheel or something like that.

The night shift talent was better than you would expect. I didn't dare go in there during the day.
