Can't disagree about the 90s.

Still, the 80s can't hold a candle to the 60s or 70s for music.

The 80s and 90s were the greatest 20 years any civilization in world history so far. No wars, economy was booming, jobs were everywhere, gas was cheap, housing market was booming, no simmering social tensions, everybody got along, and national pride was actually a thing back then.

Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neil.

Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich.

I would take either of those two today as President and Speaker of the House.

Certainly not for crime. That was the worst decade in US History. Not to mention AIDS and Crack coming out of the woodwork. The 80s was the start of something good, but we fricked most of it up in the 2000s.

I agree. I was 10-19 in the 80s and 20-29 in the 90s so I lived through them both. The 80s was a better time by far. And both the 80s & 90s were both better than anything since 2000.

Unless you lived in the hood in the 80s, you didn't see any of this.

You can make that argument for this decade.

And don't act like people's sex lives weren't affected by AIDS in the 80s. That for sure blueballed many individuals in high school and college.

I lived in constant fear in the 80’s.

Early 80s; fear of getting nuked by Russia
Mid 80s; fear of getting the shite beat out of me because of bad grades
Late 80s; fear of getting the clap

and the list goes on…

The music was great though!

It was certainly a good decade for movies.

Little known fact, but there were just as many Oscar's for best picture in the 80s as there were in the 2000s.

After about 1976 you have a case. Until then the music in the 70s was very good. Many consider 1965-1975 the greatest ten (11) year stretch of music.

Yes. Followed by the 50's. The 89's were unreal. But depending on how old you were during that time your mind may say different. The decade had everything. Great music , great movies, great sports, great chicks, ONE great president . Awesome!!!!!!!
