This is the earliest date for an Atlantic 3rd named storm formation on record (since 1851).

Old record was Colin on June 5, 2016.

ve noticed that suddenly all the weather folks are pronouncing it as Cam-peech-A and it annoys the crap out of me too. I never remember hearing it pronounced that way and then suddenly it's like they all got a lesson in how to pronounce it. I say Cam-peech-E.

Why do you keep touting the Icon?

Its way worse than the CMC and way way worse than the UK model

This is not a smart-arse response. I just wanted to point out that the ICON can sometimes be a decent model to follow. This afternoon's Euro run is almost identical to the ICON from this morning in both landfall location and strength. I'll be keeping an eye on the Euro, GFS, and ICON models.

Hero-shee-mah vs Her-row-shi-ma

My mother still asks, "When did they change it?".

The first two this year would not have even been noticed prior to 1960 before weather satellites were used. Just another way to overhype things for ratings which leads to advertising which leads to $$$.

That's good consensus but it's still going to constantly change until the turn northward begins. Where it is when that turn begins is going to give us so much more of a better idea where it will go. Strength is going to be determined if/how long the center moves over the Yucatan.

Still puts Nola on the east side. Really have my doubts that the pumps can handle that amount of rain.
