Verizon is more expensive for us due to an employer discount but this might be the straw that makes us switch.

Those GI pictures looks better than I though it would.

I thought the same thing.. Either very well built or didn't see the 150 sustained that was forecasted/reported..

The winds werent really that high comes up every hurricane, but we have a measurement as the storm came in of 149 sustained and 178 gusts. So yeah, it was actually as strong as advertised.

Based on radar GI was just outside the inner eyewall

Fourchon got the eastern eyewall

I don't know if you saw it or not, but Philippe posted that the 149 wasn't a sustained wind measurement. The way the anemometer used is set it does "Instantaneous Measurements" and doesn't average over any length of time. Both the 172 and the 149 will be stated in reports as gusts.

From coast guard flyover a friend says it looks like their Grand Isle camp is standing well!!

It’s a little silver lining for them. They know there are more important issues for SELA.

Boat is more of a hurricane history/trivia expert than a meteorologist

I just picture him reading about hurricanes on wikipedia all day
