This is exactly why I've been drinking heavily since early 2020. It is literally for my health. Tito's and Goose have saved my life.

Hey guys, been without phone or WiFi all morning. Drove out a little and I’m online. Any word on the Abita/Covington area? Off Dogpound road specifically

21 days at least till they get electricity back.
We've had 5 hours of daylight and have concluded that it will be 21 days to get power back to an entire parish.
I'm sorry but I just don't buy into this.
Let's be smart people. It's going to take time. We don't know how much time just yet.

Entergy has no idea when they'll restore power? Is that correct? I am not sure I have seen a more inept utility than them.
What a weird take.

I am part of a group that provides free meals to disaster victims. We are based out of Tuscaloosa. We are waiting for a delivery from Sysco that should come Tuesday morning. We will leave for Prairieville as soon as the delivery.
Depending on road conditions we are hoping to be there late Tuesday afternoon.
We are supposed to be setting up at:
Fellowship Church
14363 Hwy 73
Prairieville, LA 70769
If anyone needs to contact me my email is alphaandomegatd@gmail.com.

What can we do to help you?
In the meantime, take it one day at at time. Hell, one hour at a time. Try not to be overwhelmed with long term plans. Let the drs and nurses take care of your wife and child and follow their advice for returning to good health once released. Praying for you. You can do this! You will get through this difficult time and you will be a better man from it.

LSU316 I was always worried about bins blowing away/collapsing and there being a literal rice storm. But last year with Laura/Delta I finally told him my worry and he said oh no, bins might fall but rice would just sit.
How he knows for sure IDK as it's never happened to his family that I know of.
but after 24 crops, I just have to trust him. I quit asking many questions years ago.

quote:Man I just can't imagine your situation. I pray God gives you peace and comfort right now and patience to get through it all.
I have a wife in the hospital, a baby in the NICU I’ve been staying with thats been here for 3 months and I just got a call our house has been completely demolished by trees. Have never had a loss like that or even filed a claim before.
I just don’t even know how to process this at the moment or grieve right now. If that’s your thing please pray for our family. And I was so worried about my families house on the south shore. Thank God they’re all fine and their home.

Will do.
Take a minute. Go ahead and have a breakdown. You're allowed.
Then you regroup and pull it together and realize you're still here and so is your family. Go collect your belongings if you can or see if someone can collect and store them.
Call your insurance asap and start the process.
Work will get done but it will be slow. When it's finished you'll look back and realize just how much got accomplished.
You can fricking do it. People are tough man, even if you have to dig down deep it's there. You may not think so but it is.... I found out twice the hard way just far down resiliency is.
God made us live and gave us life, he just never said it'd be easy.
I'm sorry and will add you to our rosary. What's your first name? I don't need the whole one.
Edit:
www.usace.army.mil/BlueRoof is the website for a blue tarp when your trees get taken off. It will help with some water mitigation for your belongings.

Thoughts and prayers sent to you, your family, and your loved ones. It sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for today.. The “things” in our life will come and go.. and all “things” can be replaced. Hold your loved ones tight.. that’s the important stuff.

Drone video of the down transmission tower and electric lines across the river.
Seeing the amount of rust and corrosion at the base of that tower it's a wonder it took a strong hurricane to take it out.
Can they not get a crew to get out there and give it a good scrape and painting every couple years? Jeez

East side of JP will be without water. The west side might have faired better.
Also, Toya about to come on. Some weird info that she is going to order evacuation. Take it with a grain of salt though.

FYI in Prairieville, 44/929 area, ran extension chord to modem and have internet. Cable box hard wired to modem is working. and netflix on smart tvs is working, little thing that can make it a lot more comfortable especially if you have kids

To me that seems like a valid concern but I'm certainly not an insider.
