Only benefit of the doubt I can give them is that a major wreck/traffic jam due to people driving recklessly would cause more problems for people.

My guess is they’re out so they’re visible and it keeps people from driving like assholes and possibly causing accidents which, in turn, causes major backups.

They are there for the most part to keep people from flying back and causing wrecks. If you put on cruise control 75 they won’t look your way.

People were hauling arse on the way back during Laura. A lot of stupid drivers.

Any word from Watson area? Can’t reach any family. Thanks

I am sure it's just due to outages. Things got pretty intense in the area between 9 and midnight.

Any reports from the Prairieville area? I have a lot of family there I’m hoping to get to today and make a supply run.

Im assuming they all have ATT because none of them can be reached.

Compare LA attitude to Texas, we evacuated in our Rv to Texas, the RV park refunded our money for the week since we were evacuees, we did not ask. Said they looked at our home address and realized why we were there

Man that’s awesome. There are good people! Side note, hopefully they gave you a receipt anyway for insurance purposes!

I’ve always been of the belief a trooper on the side of the road creates more harm than good. Slamming on brakes, changing lanes, etc.

I could be wrong.

90 seems like a better bet. One tree can stop you on Hwy 1.

You may already know what I'm about to post but someone else reading may not have thought of this;

If planning to drive into the hard hit areas You need to take as much daily (food and water batteries) and emergency supplies (as possible; medical kits, extra gas, tools, work gloves, chainsaw with g&o, chains, ropes, tire repair kits - jack, air compressor, , tarps, with you .

Good luck and be safe!

Been following this thread from Kansas City for almost 3 days now. Glad the sun is finally up so you can see what is needed to start clean up. Prayers to all down there...

We might need a curfew/ Parish closure thread.

Anyone have an update on the water pressure/sewage situation in Jefferson/Orleans

For those coming from Texas on 10, state troopers are all over the place from the state line to Jennings.

Leave it to LA to line its own pockets from residents trying to come back from evacuation.

Are they writing tickets?

$100 says they haven’t pulled a single person over and your just a loser prick.

State police out in a show of force discourages looters and other bad issues. Like you want them to do.
