You’re the pro… I’m just a hobbyist… but this is the most consistent, widespread distribution of winds that I’ve ever seen.

So what does that mean? Cat 5 incoming? Or what

It's continuing to get stronger, and quickly.

I'm not about to call a category, but this rate of intensification with the warm water and upper levels...could get very very scary in short order.

I'm honestly not sure where we end up here, but pushing into that 160+ range would appear to be on the table.

Out of curiosity any idea how strong wind has to be to rip a brick house apart? Or just straight up tear the roof off a house?

This website has given me a $1,000,000 worth of incredible entertainment and laughs since I stumbled onto it years and years ago.

Even though I moved away from Southern Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina - this site always helped me feel a connection I need and less homesick.

With that said, any Baws that are reading this now and on the fence if they should leave.

There is zero traffic right at this moment and plenty of decent hotel rooms in Houston for under $100. If money is tight, I'll dox myself and send you the $100 to leave - get the hell out of there for your peace of mind and at best case scenario - it is just a waste of time driving.

Leave now if you can. It is a good window to put your phone or computer down and get in your car and go!

This thing is impressive. Unfortunately a lot of people are going to have a bad time for the next day and after.

Hopefully all you guys in the danger zone fare ok.

That is worst case. Shelter in place beats getting stranded in a car and sheltering wherever.
