“If BR is on the west side of the eye, HUGE difference”
Wouldn’t consider that huge.

On radar it looks like a pencil thin band pushing through Bay Saint Louis right now. It almost looks like an outflow boundary.

Recon will find a Cat 3 easy, probably a higher end one too. This is bad.

With the earlier arrival of Ida, I should be able to get some vids like you asked.
Gotta look at the positives

Ida is 100% a Cat 3 or above right now.. In my 40 years of following hurricanes, Cat 1/2 storms don’t look like that.. EVER. That looks like a strong Cat 3 or low Cat 4 to me.

That’s looking impressive

Would think BR takes it on the chin seeing as they haven't had a "major" storm in quite a few years to knock down the weak trees. Going to be trees down left and right

Thanks. I’m good. Have three elderly family members staying, inlaws that won’t leave, and a couple emergency workers in the family, so I’m riding it out.
We have all we technically need. Water, food, cash, gas, axes, emergency communication, fueled up cars, etc. we’re in an area that might flash flood due to rain and worst case scenario get a couple feet but it shouldn’t be a rooftop rescue scenario.
I just don’t like the looks of this storm or the logistics of taking care of these people in the aftermath.
I was really hoping I’d have time to try and make a last minute decision or plea Sunday morning and then they shifted the landfal estimate from 7pm to 1pm snd it looks like it’s speeding up so nothing to do now but ride it out.
I’m with a crew that stayed for and got rescued after Katrina (Granny was actually around for Camille although only 4 at the time) so fortunately/unfortunately we’re prepared for this shite show.
Appreciate you checking in.
Good luck and god bless to everyone staying in SE LA.

I still say if you’re not comfortable staying then why would you wait to be told to leave???
You know the answer to that as well as I do. Those that can and did evacuate, or even the ones making a conscious informed decision to stay aren’t the ones voting for her. The ones that put her in office are the ones that need to be told what to do. And as per usual are also the ones that suffer the most from poor leadership. And won’t learn from their mistakes.
