That’s the lowest rain totals I’ve seen.

No it’s just the non aggressive colors they used. Plenty of 20”+ areas.

Do you really want aggressive colors on top of all the other hurricane related stress?

WAFB not in agreement with NWS’s team in Slidell. WAFB is closer to the NOAA predictions.

The Waffle House in Morgan City is closed until after the storm.

Forecasts are following guidance of short range, high res models now, and they've been pushing big totals.

Unless they're in some ridiculously low spot, I don't see a need at this point.

I’m frightened for friends staying in Morgan city but they’re adults who can decide. I’m sitting ok at home south of Lafayette.

God bless all of you and stay safe.

Seriously trying to contemplate the need to evacuate. I’m in Metairie off west esplanade and causeway. Not worried about flooding, house is two story brick . The thought of ten hours in a car with kids and dog sounds like a nightmare.

I just spoke to the Assistant Manager at the LaQuinta Inn in New Orleans East. If your crew wants to pay $350 cash, he can get you a 3rd floor double for two nights.

The outlier isn’t NOAA.

It’s the 110 mph sustained wind prediction in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and the north shore. And that was the National Weather Service in Slidell. That’s alarming and much higher than the other predictions.

Exciting that Baton Rouge and/or New Orleans and/or other areas of Louisiana are going to experience massive damage and potential loss of life? Sounds like a blast *rolls eyes*

On one hand I’m happy I left just to be safe and responsible.

On the other hand it would be awesome (in the literal sense of the word) to experience that level of mother nature. Just have to make sure you live.
