Has it not hit the loop current? It is tightening up but not seeing a lot of deep convection on the eastern side like you would a strengthening storm

well I've think you've predicted every possible outcome now.

Remember, the current eye is nearly 30 miles wide (based on last recon) and is mostly obscured by high clouds. So while Ida has been running just right of the forecast, the pic is a bit deceptive and the eye looks to be on track, just a bit offset from center. It would only take a small wobble back to correct. Also, while looking better than earlier it is still a bit ragged looking but satellite without recon doesn't really tell us much about what is currently going on.

The real showtime will be overnight in DMAX.
I'm very interested to see what it does tonight. The stage is set for it to be one hell of a RI opportunity.

Why the hell do we not have every 2 hour planes/updates at this point?

rds, did it shift East from the 10 AM update, or am I smoking crack?
I saw a lot of the GFS ensemble has it going east of Houma, do we trust the GFS at this point?

Thank you baw, and Duke too. As soon as the news of an eastern jog came out, my anxious family members started texting me. This will calm them a little

I got Torchy's for the first time today, I'm right there with you. BTW: the word "commode" always makes me crack an immature smile. All I can ever think is "That's them boys that commode my grass."

I haven't paid enough attention to the flights to know why, really.
Rt3 usually handles that.

I know this is probably a dumb question but I don’t care. If this storm passes northwest over Nola, is there enough warm water in the lake to keep the storm a hurricane or is that body of water to small to effect anything?
To small and shallow to effect anything.

May have been posted, but 18z Early Cycle Tracks are very tightly clustered.
