I liked your updates yesterday. Don’t like them anymore.

I'm in my 30s and if the current forecast holds up, BR will be seeing the worst storm in my life time.

. I stayed in JDP and it was surreal and frightening listening to the wind howl and there’s nothing you can do about it. I couldn’t imagine the horror of staying in Calcasieu or Cameron during the storm
my neighbor stayed
he told me every tree that broke sounded like an explosion

So, I’m supposed to be selling my house in Lafayette on Monday. Guess that’s not happening?

Did this guy move back, or did he stay in Houston?

Sheesh. It's a hurricane already over Isla Juventud. That thing may set an all-time record when it strikes the Gulf Coast.

I can either ride or out in the cbd on the 3rd floor with my car on the 4th, or in a huge house in destrehan with a whole home generator. Have not decided yet

Any posters live in St Tammany Parish? Staying or leaving? I have three little kids. Not at risk of flooding but would suck to lose power. Typically we are at low risk of power loss.

Stolen from Stormcast...the last 3 Euro runs trending more east.

Guessing maybe I should book a room somewhere just in case there’s an eastern shift

The majority of people I've spoken to in Morgan City area are staying too, me included.
Thats stupid.
I'm trying to get through to my stubborn parents. My father is the most stubborn man on the planet and isn't moving. My mom is going to her sister's house.....in Patterson. And the most frustrating part.....THEY HAVE A CAMPER!!

Same here, minus the toddler. All of mine are teenagers. Might be worse than a toddler.

I live in Cut Off and I am currently planning to stay. I have a whole house generator and 2 portable 6500watt backups for that. My house's first floor is 14 ft. 4in above sea level or 10 feet above the ground it sits on. My pilings are 40 ft. in the ground and everything is double braced with 5/8 plywood outside, inside, and on every wall and ceiling. I am good as long as I don't have a tornado hit me directly. My main worry is widespread flooding inside the levees down here may cause the gas company to shut down the gas supply then I would have to rely on my backups to my natural gas genny.

hearing stories from people who stayed for Laura, IDK if I wanna stay
being the anniversary and this storm rolling in, in our office we were just reliving the 4am texts from our secretary who stayed, from under a mattress in her laundry room, frantically asking how much longer she had after two hours of eye wall.
it was not fun to have to tell her she had another two hours of eye wall coming.
now, we had legit 150mph winds and all, gusts up to 185 according to the city. hopefully this doesn't intensify all the way in like Laura. and she basically got the entire eastern wall the whole way up. but it doesn't take many conversations w those who stayed to strip me of any interest in it going forward. and I doubt 120 mph is all that better
