I live in a NOLA highrise. That’s probably among the safest places I can be, but any prolonged power outage or water pressure dip would be catastrophic because I would have zero ability to cook, no running water, and would have to take 15 flights of stairs to get out.

My other options aren’t much better with the current track.

Yep. Assuming with all of the temporary buildings from Laura, they don’t want kids in them if we get anything close to tropical storm winds if the current path holds.

With you there kingbob... think we're peacing to Birmingham right after work. Only thing thinking we may be alright is sitting on the hotel power grid

Even up the river is a pretty good eastern shift from other models. Canada has been way east of everyone else this whole time.

Id just leave NOLA. Not that this will necessarily be evac worthy there, you dont want to be there if its a direct hit.

I wouldn’t want to be in NOLA if it was sunny and 75 degrees

Where is the storm passing over at the moment?

Looks like it’s currently passing over the northern Caribbean. I would be more worried about where it’s projected to pass over Sunday to Monday.

I’m looking at the NHC site. The track now that I see just bumped West. Keeps me in the NE quadrant.

These models that show it going East are ones y’all are running y’all selves. Correct?

I hope it goes East instead of barely West.

Catastrophic would be the storm passing over NOLA, which isn't forecast at the moment.

A slow moving strong 3 or higher that goes just to the west of New Orleans is the worst possible scenario. Think about an eye that goes over Boutte.

For all the fretting over the center wobble, the 6z HWRF had it passing to the NW of the Isle of Youth and still had it making landfall near Cypremort Point.
