It's a rain shower 'already.' It still doesn't have a circulation associated with it.

No need to be a dick. I'm all for keeping things in perspective, but for someone who is just checking in and has no clue what a closed circulation even means, it can still look intimidating.

You said "It's like some of you have never been through hurricane season before" as if we've had a potential storm discussions in the context of a flood that's never occurred in our lifetimes before.

I get it. Let's move on.

The Euro model has this thing sitting right below La by next Wednesday. If this thing even remotely becomes a hurricane of any category that would be awful with the amount of water it would push up into an already full area of the state.

It's the red color that throws everyone off. People see that and think it's a cat 5, it doesn't matter if the legend shows the red as 10 mph winds

No, intensity modeling isn't worth shite right now. Take the models with a grain of salt in both direction and intensity until we at least have a closed low to look at.

I agree it's not worth a shite on intensity, but dynamical models don't need a closed low to have an accurate projection.

This thing will become s named storm sometime today. Looking pretty impressive. And there no systems moving across the country to steer this thing in any direction. High pressure systems abound.

Not to be an a-hole, but nobody asked you to care. They arent your plans, they are ours. Some of us have a lot of money already tied up in these plans and it would be beneficial to have an idea as to whether we should look at possibly making other arrangements sooner rather than later.

I dont think you will find a single person here that would argue with you about this. Get off your high horse.

the king of all weather models has a strengthening major hurricane bearing down on the state's major population center that happens to be below sea level as well as a huge portion of the state that is recovering from floods that were generally thought to be impossible.

meanwhile there's all these dickheads in the thread asking what they should do about travel to the LSU game or their planned vacations. clearly, you can see that there's a disconnect here.
