I realize that. I was responding to someone else's suggestion of what I thought was waiting until Friday to make a decision on whether or not to move game to BR. I misread his original post hence my edit

I would have figured that Les Cayes would still be getting hammered. Looks like it's died down a good bit, unless those pics were taken as the eye passed over

The game will probably be at Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
That's what it's looking like.

ppl are saying on the rant that they are getting reports of this storm slowing down right now?
Can anyone on here help out and confirm or deny that?
Rant doesnt exactly have the meteorologists the OT has.
Thanks

There is supposed to be a pretty strong front moving through our area within the next 5 days so I would assume that anything that manages to form down in the Caribbean again would eventually turn north and take a similar path as Matthew, just perhaps further west this time.

We have been waiting for two days for it to hit Cuba and this damn thing is inching along and still isn't here in any force. Appears to be crawling to me, but I am no expert.

The game will be played on Sunday in Gainsville. That's the most logical answer.

Sure. But i'm not worried about that. was just curious if any of you weather fanatics had more info than what the rant has. TWC is pretty much on repeat until this evening prolly.

For this latest advisory the pressure increased to 950 mb but the wind speeds remained the same. I suspect the wind speeds may drop for the next advisory. Up to 10 mph too
Won't the Gulf Stream give it the fuel it needs to reenergize and renew itself?
I thought I heard the NHC saying that best case scenario was for forward progression to slow down and that would likely help it miss making a direct landfall on the eastern seaboard but if the forward progress sped up, it increased the likelihood of it making landfall exponentially. I'm positive I heard that not long ago. (He said landfall specifically in the Carolinas should it speed up, most likely near Charleston..that was about 3 hours ago that this was said by the NHC on TWC when being asked about this scenario)
ETA: Part of that was actually in response to someone else who said they heard forward speed was increasing. Sorry that post is somewhat confusing!
