Its there prerogative as a member of the media to make sure they can save as many lives as possible. Even if it's overblown. Better safe than sorry.

entirely, but maybe scaring people into action is an ok thing in these scenarios.

I agree with that. It was just, shocking.

I wasn't trying to be insensitive, folks. I've been through many storms and seen what they've done to other states. I know the Katrina was horrific and I've read the warning many times. I don't think(Jesus Christ I hope it's not) this will be Katrina level destruction and loss of life.

Recon and radar confirm that the outer eyewall is contracting, depending on timing, this could set the stage for another round of significant strengthening before landfall.

Hey boys, pray for me.
It looked good early on, my family is safe, but it's too late to join them.

I know you said you've been drinking so hopefully you're just buzzed and it's not actually getting that bad where you are. Regardless, prayers sent.

Just saw that Freeport in the Bahamas reported a peak wind gust of 167 mph in the eyewall a few minutes ago. Nothing can survive that type of wind gust.

A band hitting here in Orlando right now. Just a ton of rain right now. Also trying to get two outdoor cats to come inside out of a rainstorm seems like it would be easy, but it's not.

NOLA1128 why do you do this shite??? If it's water you're worried about PLEASE put an ax and water and food in your attic.

If it's trees, IDK what to tell you. If it's tornadoes well you know -- find that interior room.

Dude ... don't stress us out like this!

and I hate to say it but write your name/ssn on your arm ... if you get hit with flying debris in the head, well head injuries aren't fun and they'd at least know who you are.
