Vote against every incumbent. Democrat or Republican, vote them out. We need to demand term limits.

For those that may struggle differentiating.

quote:

Whom should be used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition. When in doubt, try this simple trick: If you can replace the word with “he”' or “'she,” use who. If you can replace it with “him” or “her,” use whom. Who should be used to refer to the subject of a sentence.

Who should be used to refer to the subject of a sentence.

Whom should be used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition.

which doesn't mean the democrats aren't several times worse

Why can't people just agree that everybody in power sucks without having to throw in "but my favorites don't suck as bad as yours?"

Well to be fair, after the Democrats' little performances during the Kavanaugh Hearings and the Impeachment fiasco, pardon me for being a bit harder on them.

Because one side, the one that has been openly campaigning on spending money and raising taxes for decades, held this aid up so they figure out ways to spend money.

They all need to be blamed for being pieces of shite that don’t actually care about American people and the hardships we go through, but the democrats in this instance blatantly held up the bill, when time was of the essence, to fund their wishlist items. A spending bill was necessary and imminent and they took advantage of it.

It’s not like that pay increase was heavily deliberated. Although I’m not sure it was in the senate version.

I haven’t let something political piss me off in 15 years until I read this.

I still think this could have been handled very easily with two far more affordable approaches- a 90 day revolving debt holiday and a temporary expansion of existing programs -mainly unemployment and food stamps. Just kick everything down the road 90 days credit wise ( mortgages rent car payments) and allow people to request and acquire the assistance they actually need.

Regardless, I hope all OT non ballers get through this as gracefully as possible. Because this completely sucks for all of us.

I believe this bill must Die. Congress is broken. Turn the capitol bldg. into a freakin museum. Some guillotines need to be rolled out and some necks must be chopped. Some big corps need to go bankrupt and someone with talent and drive will rebuild. This is not working.

You dare question the motives of our Political Aristocracy peasant? They are accustomed to a certain lifestyle, and we must all sacrifice to make sure they can maintain it in these difficult times.

I’m sure most of the $25 million will still be wasted, but it doesn’t sound like it’s going directly to their checking accounts.

factcheck.org

quote:

A spokesman for the House Appropriations Committee called the pay-raise claims circulating online “absurd and inaccurate.” “The funding is to support the House’s capability to telework, including for the purchase of equipment and improvements to the network,” Evan Hollander told us in an email. “It will also provide for reimbursement costs for the staff of the House Child Care Center and covers the costs of the House food service contracts. In addition, it will support the Sergeant-At-Arms on continuity of operations matters.” He added: “Moreover, Member salaries are funded through the Treasury pursuant to the Constitution and are not funded through appropriations.”

May have already been covered in here, but representatives also pay the salaries of their staff. Not uncommon to have 10+ staffers. This $ is presumably to pay them as well, in addition to their travel back and forth to D.C. Not defending the bill, just pointing this out.

Ahh yes, the Anarchist. Burning it all down must be the solution because I don’t like it.

That would create total chaos and would cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Is that what you want?

All for me and none for thee.

I am literally getting $0 from this stimulus bill but I sure as hell am paying for it.
