This shows BRPD known as Kip Holden's thug force is out of control.
1. Another dept should be investigating both responding officers covering this up and the officer involved. If no blood or urine test was done everyone from the officers who responded to the call to human resources need to be immediately terminated.
2. All officers and supervisors covering this up should be fired and charges filed against them.
3. To solve this all BRPD vehicles need to be parked after shift at their station.
No City or parish vehicles should be allowed to be driven home for personal use.
Anyone who breaks this rule should be automatically terminated.
Other large depts do this what makes kip Holden's thug force any different.
All this shows is the BRPD no longer serves the people of Baton Rouge and need to be disbanded.

A civilian is tested for a DUI on the spot and the passenger of the car is interviewed.

He should be summarily fired and there is no good reason otherwise.
1. Destruction of state property
2. Willful disregard for the safety of others
3. Willful disobeying traffic laws
4. Willful disregard for his job duties
5. Breach of public trust
6. Cost to the state for retrieving the vehicle
7. Cost incurred by the state in "investigating"
8. Embarrassment to the department

Hell. the last guy you all stopped in Cedardale area for DWI got shot, this guy isn't even booked? It's blatant corrupt shite like this that makes me wonder what else you guys are doing. Perhaps if the department was straightened out our crime rate would go down. NOPD should not be the model that BRPD tries to emulate.

Alright let's put 20 seconds on the clock and see how many jokes we can make.
Probably saw a break tag in the water and went to inspect.
I wonder if he swerved to hit a dog.
Did anyone check the lakes for an innocent black man?
Hey guys, who dropped doughnuts in the lake?
When they found him, he claimed the lake looked suspicious.
Before radioing it in, he planted a gun on the lake.
Paul Blart 2: Lake Cop
He heard drunk driver have been known to go into the lake, so he tried to hide there and catch them.

They haven't covered anything up. Jesus dude it hasn't been 24 hours since it occurred. Chill out.
If this was a civilian he'd still be in jail.

Lulz. He should be fired immediately. You want this alcoholic guy with terrible judgment and no self control loose on the street drunk with guns and a tazer?

They didn't cover anything up??? All they did was take little Byron home. You think a normal civilian gets taken home in that situation. Hell no. A normal Joe would have prolly been waterboarderd in the lake a few rounds before going to jail

Take home cars needs to be stopped for all police departments, highly abused system, if not discontinued then they should have gps monitoring and not be used for personal use /days off

If this was a 30 year old black driver with gold chains and pants on the ground who drive his car into the lake I'm sure he would have been taken home and tucked in by officers Friendly and Chums.

Stories like this just contribute to the public's distrust of the police.
Its a shame that these guys can't clean up their act.

He hit the trifecta of bad driving.
He's a cop, he's from Baton Rouge, and he's was drunk.
I'm surprised the car just didn't drive itself into a wall.
