They have started using these in Texas too.

You cruising down I-10...music up, air conditioner working overtime, feeling completely unbothered...Meanwhile above you?
Not a pelican. Not a storm cloud rolling in from the Gulf.
That’s Louisiana State Police getting the aerial perspective. ??

No different than camera traps. Prove it was me driving. Hard to do it you’re alone…but I’d still throw it out there to see if it stuck.

Florida State Patrol has been doing this with real airplanes since at least the 80's.

Hard to believe their radar is good enough to differentiate between cars that close together.

Can they stop thugs from shooting up malls?
Would be nice if they could use them for actual police work.

I call BS on this whole thread. Where's the link to the article??

Senate Bill 360 from the 2024 Regular Session restricts the issuance of speeding tickets in certain circumstances. Specifically, it prohibits speeding citations from being issued solely based on the make, model, or license plate of a vehicle, or as a result of data generated by an automated speed enforcement device. It also requires that citations only be issued to the actual driver of the vehicle at the time of the alleged violation.

I’d be okay with these at intersections catching litterers who put an entire bag of Popeyes or gas station food on the ground waiting for the light to change.

Louisiana State Police do the same with helicopters. They've been on I-55 for years
