why should they. They are doing an investigation. Do you think it has been completed in 5 days?

What good does it do to release how many times MB was shot or the officers name?

Just getting here, did I miss the link to this data..?

quote:

500 innocent Americans are murdered by police every year (USDOJ). 5,000 since 9/11, equal to the number of US soldiers lost in Iraq.

In 1994 the US Government passed a law authorizing the Pentagon to donate surplus Cold War era military equipment to local police departments.

In the 20 years since, weaponry designed for use on a foreign battlefield, has been handed over for use on American streets…against American citizens.

quote:

The number of soldiers killed since the inception of the Iraq war, 4489.

There was a reason. We won't find out if it was a good enough until all of this civil unrest and looting crap is over.

But, you say the sample size is different.

That's a fact, they are different. They are implying that 5,000/300,000,000 is of equal statistical value as 4,489/2,500,000 (I am going off of estimates).

another debate tactic used.

This time it's feigning ignorance. Now this poster knows exactly what was given. But he doesn't like the way it was presented. Rather than look into it further he will point out a semantical error in it's delivery.

If you say WARZONE, and then cite one battlefield, you are skewing to your advantage..I simply pointed out the obvious

Oh I didn't know that 2,500,000 soldiers in a war were supposed to die at a slower rate than citizens of the nation they fight for at home, by the hands of the homefront military forces (police) while fighting in an actual war, vs those at home in relative peace with a few bad apples percentage wise.

It is state by state but I'd think there are 2 standards based on % of population. It is well known and published that there are a group of cops dedicated to the primarily black communities in B.R. and it is to stop the black crime that effects the law abiding black people. They probably do many seatbelt & proof of insurance checks.

You already have them convicted? You need to give your evidence to a lawyer!!

You really don't know how statistics work do you?

5,000 deaths out of 2,500,000 people is substantially higher percentage when compared to a relatively similar number out of 300,000,000. The rhetoric of your argument states that walking around in a war zone is less dangerous than being black and walking up to a cop car and asking for directions.

One is a register-able percentage (.002%) versus something that is mathematically negligible.

That is one war, not a battlefield. We have two separate wars going on.

They are not one war two fields. It's two totally different wars happening at the same time.

But since I am now forced to go further...

quote:

At least 1,821 military service members have died in Afghanistan as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

LINK

+ 3528 (combat casualties in Iraq)
LINK

we get 5,349 deaths in "THE WARZONE" vs what should now be about 5,500 police deaths.

So even then.

Wrong. Shoot to kill. Anything less is poor tactics. Always double tap, one in torso and one in head. I carry no badge and even I know that.

See and this is the attack the messenger debate bullshite that the right fricking loves to death.

ONE.

A poster said more people have died in the US by police than soldiers died in the wars.

TWO.
A poster asked for a fricking link

Three. I provided

FOUR.
Thread now derailed by idiots who want to offer semantical arguments about the statics of the given link and totally ignore the point.

That a fricking link was given when asked for.

No one, I mean no one has implied this.

Of course it's more dangerous to be in Iraq, the fricking point was the amount of fallen soldiers is about equal to the deaths of people shot by cops in the last decade.

that is the only point. You had to invent a strawman rather than accept that.

If true this is the first step to control this situation and end it ASAP. Curfew and limits on protests soon to follow.
