Tie a rat terrier to your column. Problem solved. No need to thank me.

I imagine the 12 gauge Hillbilly Gopher Trap would work just as effectively on squirrels as it does gopher. YouTube link, skip ahead to 1:30 for the action...

A couple of these will solve the problem. Great pets.

I had this problem years ago and all these little tricks and traps don't work.
I got your solution, but you got to drop the "I can't be cruel to animals boo hoo" bullshite. You got to declare war and be ready to bring "Shock & Awe" to their squirrel empire.
First, buy yourself a scope pump .177 high velocity air rifle. Next, buy about three post mounted bird feeders and set them up in the most strategic position to your most accessible house window.
The little vermon know there is death at the bird feed, but they're so stupid they can't help themselves.
Just perch from your window and head shot the nasty little bastads one by one.
Took me about two weeks and over a dozen dead squirrels, but I won that war.

My college roommate and i used to set those big rat traps behind the dorm baited with peanutbutter.
We ate like kings all semester.

Spray foam to fill it and a pellet gun for the squirrel

Can you shoot them? It’s really the best solution.

I would suggest an air shotgun instead. I had no success with the Havahart traps when these rats got in my attic. Ordered an air shotgun which also shoots 22 caliber pellets. The shot is only deadly from up to about 30 feet. The good thing about that is you don't have to worry about shooting your neighbors windows, etc.
Gamo Air Shotgun and Rifle
Between me shooting and my terrier catching one a family of four got eradicated.

.177 Ruger pellet gun. Cheap scope. Neighbors won’t call the cops for hearing a gun. I HAD a huge squirrel problem.

Go to the pound, get a cat, put it outside and feed for a couple weeks then stop feeding. Works on mice too.
And this is coming from someone that hates cats.

I just got over this problem.
Squirrels made a nest in my column in front of my house. I shot the mom with rat shot .22
Then I put rat trap on either side of the hole and caught all 3 of the youngins.
I don’t mind squirrels, but when they start chewing holes in my house, they must be exterminated.
