Somebody in upper management is cheating on their spouse and/or the company is cheap and/or failing.

European companies are so funny, can't fire anyone...I was in Italy talking with a large leather clothing designer, he said we transfer all to the store/ location we are about to close..only way to fire people

The manager with a direct report self reported before we found out. Thar was the only one that would have been violating company policy. The rest had no conflicts of interest.

I like going to his holiday party every year. His company spends $$$ on their holiday party. And it's a fun excuse to get really dressed up.

I know you’re a chick and comprehension is tough but the subject is Christmas parties ya pinko.

I haven't

My wife's company party/dinner is white table cloth steak dinner with entertainment and nice gifts.

If the company I work for had one it would be a drunken BBQ. Spouses would look at their husbands differently after the event.

Of course she doesn't, but where do you think your boss is when he's not in the office?

My employer let’s us shut down at 2PM and drink beer and wine. On the house!

But I will just probably go home and drink instead.

My law firm closes at noon on a Friday. Private room at a restaurant (lately has been at Palace Cafe). Open bar. No spouses/SO's. Luncheon usually breaks up by 3:30, but quite a few hit the Quarter afterwards to continue the drinking. A few spouses show up for the afterparty, but most don't.

I used to get home at midnight. Now I'm home by 7, but still hung over for 3 days.

Lucky.
I work for some very bottom line joos.

No party.

No gifts though they do begrudgingly let me have off Christmas Day as a paid holiday. Guilt or something, I guess.

They don’t see the point of it at all and I take vacation for Christmas Eve and the day after.
