Who decides what is problematic? Along with the Covid buzz words this has to be my least favorite buzz word. "Problematic", "Systematic" and "Racist" all words people say who have no argument but are offended

Millions and 100 million are not the same thing.

No Agenda? It's been off of mine all week. They even opened todays episode explaining why they aren't going to be on Spotify anymore.
They will probably be losing a lot of content over the next few months.

Yeah. I'm sure that his contract is very different. But they are taking a pretty big gamble with these new contracts.
They are basically asking a lot of podcasts to just sign over their content to them...and putting the onus on them for any potential music royalties that might have to be paid out for copyright violations.

It’s a tough situation. On one hand selective censorship shouldn’t be something anyone wants, but on the other hand you have highly powerful people like Joe Rogan spreading just straight misinformation at times and susceptible audiences (takes a look around) will eat it up because they don’t know any better.
You could say the same about news organizations.

I misunderstood. I thought you meant the Rogan episode with Adam Curry.

Would not be surprised if his contract with Spotify gives him an easy out if they try to censor or edit. Joe is probably sitting pretty laughing his arse off right now and teeing up some controversial guests just to throw gas on the fire

Again
India people need jobs and are skilled in what the owner would need.
People willing to work that do not care who uses the product.
Cost per employee is less.
Owner could stay in the US, outsource the jobs, get the same if not better service, does not have to give into strikes or demands, and reduce overhead increasing profits.

Joe Rogan says what the frick he wants, and I don’t see him changing. He leans more left than I would say I do, but he’s not a far left pussy. If they try to muzzle him too much, he’ll tell them to STFU.

Like what? What straight up misinformation is being spread?
And in this groups particular outrage, what straight up misinformation about transgender people is he spreading.

Spotify employees reportedly enjoy comfortable salaries in the $120-$130,000 annual range, with considerable perks and benefits. These are plum jobs in extremely uncertain economic times, making a strike a risky move.
Let them find out the hard way.

Spotify employees were demanding direct editorial oversight over the recently-acquired Joe Rogan Experience podcast. That would include the ability to directly edit or remove sections of upcoming interviews, or block the uploading of episodes deemed problematic. The employees also demanded the ability to add trigger warnings, corrections, and references to fact-checked articles on topics discussed by Rogan in the course of his multi-hour discussions.
Honest question, who do these employees think they are?

How is Pardon My Take and half of the comedy specials that are on there still available if JRE is under fire?
I loved listening to pardon my take. George Floyd happened. They had Jamel Lewis on and let him go off long enough to tell me I no longer wished to listen. I got to the point where Jamal Lewis tried to explain that stats do not matter. Only the perception of minorities. They let him carry on unchecked and acted in a cuck manner. I haven't listened since.

It’s symptomatic of what’s going on with A LOT of people in America. They believe that because someone said something that they disagree with or find offensive, they are entitled to treat the person like trash. They think it’s okay to stand over someone for not falling in line with what they believe. And it’s some really toxic and destructive sentiments.

People trying to censor everything are the worst. Let there be a marketplace of ideas and flawed opinions to choose from. Spotify should quietly move those jobs to Austin.
Oh shite!!!
Glad to see you’re a reasonable person that happens to have different political beliefs than I.

4 years into the collective media running thousands of hours of TV and over half a million print articles of "Russian Collusion"
We know now was planted by the FBI and CIA in concert with Russian military intelligence agents to get Trump.

This is a bunch of crap. First of all, Rogan has gone back and corrected himself when proven wrong. He’s not afraid to be challenged. Secondly, there is no “selective censorship.” It’s just censorship. Which if you are a person who truly embraces American principles, you would be 100% against that. Even if Rogan goes and blatantly says lies and hateful stuff (he doesn’t), people need to be able to hear that. Censorship just covers for people. If people want to say dumb stuff, let them show the whole world how dumb they are. And if you are stupid enough to believe false claims or don’t do your due diligence to fact check things you aren’t well educated about, that is YOUR fault. Everyone needs to take some personal responsibility and stop taking words from people on large platforms as the gospel truth.
FTR, this isn’t inherently directed at you, personally. This is just a thought on the idea overall.

See. That’s what entertainment is though.
What’s next? The elimination of the fiction genre?!
The censorship of what is deemed not true, right, just, etc. is the assassination of free thought on the grounds of those wielding self-righteousness like some narcissistic weapon.
If it offends you, turn the channel. If it offends you, find another lucrative job. That’s how capitalism works. Oh the glory of being FREE.
I’m erroneously labeled a liberal, but on some things (like this), I draw a hard line.......and I’m a Rogan fan.

The best thing about Rogan is he let's people speak. He can have the furthest left or the furthest right person on and they are allowed to just speak without being led by the interview as is common with most.
I really enjoy it and on spotify it's been easier to listen to while driving.

It called the free market and Spotify must make enough money off this guys show to want to keep him.
I guess the employee do not understand that the show along with many others bring in the listener. Somewhere a group of advertisers want to reach those listeners. They pay to get their message to the listeners. I bet the owner wants as many shows with as many listeners as possible. This equals more revenue if they run their business model right. This money pays their salaries.
You take the show off, you have to find someone else to take up for the revenue lost.
If you do not find that show, Spotify makes less money and eventually reduces people they do not need.
It is a pretty simple concept I guess the workers do not understand it.
