Joe Rogan built his podcast by having interesting guests on, uncensored, Spotify knew what they were buying when they paid $100M for the rights. It does them no good to censor Rogan, thus hurting their asset, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is language in the contract that state that it cannot be edited/censored without Rogan's permission.
The snowflake Spotify employees can take their concern and shove right up their asses.

Tell me specifically what misinformation Rogan is spreading as fact.
Nothing. In fact, in every single episode, he says "don't listen to me, I'm an idiot" and "don't come to me for your opinion on politics."

I am not one of these "I am going to stop doing this because they support that... boohoo hoo" types. That's just as bad as the people who want to cancel shite just because someone said something they didn't like, but if Spotify and Joe Rogan would end their relationship over something like this, I would cancel my Spotify account (not to mention, awhile back I thought about canceling Spotify to go back to Apple, because I think Apple is easier to navigate and the ONLY reason I decided to stay with Spotify is because by January Rogan will only be available on Spotify).
He is probably the least biased host out there. He just wants to have a conversation. See what someone has to say. It gives you a chance to hear why someone has the views they do have. Instead of just getting a clip of what someone says (the clip is usually just a small part of a bigger discussion), you get it all.
I am not sure is this is still the trans community pushing back, but they seem to be the worst group out there when it comes to all of this shite. If someone doesn't recognize the trans community the way they expect people to do so, they will go after everything that person says.

Good on that CEO for not giving in. Don’t give them an inch. If they have an issue there are plenty of other companies to work for.
This is a precedent that needs to be set
I don't know the CEO or his leanings and he may well have enough spine to say i may not agree but we dont believe in censorship...but ... there is a matter of the old: You borrow a 100k and the bank owns you- you borrow a 100 million and you own the bank axiom going on here

It’s a tough situation. On one hand selective censorship shouldn’t be something anyone wants, but on the other hand you have highly powerful people like Joe Rogan spreading just straight misinformation at times and susceptible audiences (takes a look around) will eat it up because they don’t know any better.
You just described all major news outlets

Yeah he doesn’t even hate trans people at all. He will respect someone’s wishes if they want to be called he or she. He’s mainly spoken out against the trans athletes because it’s so unfair to the biological women competitors.
But just like so many extremist views, if you don’t 100% fall in line, they want you destroyed.

That poster was hoping to get a lot of bites. The “takes a look around” part indicates that.

Joe needs to give that money back. Hell, he still has "frick You" money from Fear Factor.
He's finding out now what the true cost of that deal is.

Fire the frick out of them if they strike and hire people that aren’t idiots.

Just a strike? Make a statement and quit, you cowards.

Spotify employees reportedly enjoy comfortable salaries in the $120-$130,000 annual range, with considerable perks and benefits. These are plum jobs in extremely uncertain economic times, making a strike a risky move.
I would love to take your job. I would imagine all of the roles there are fricking easy.

It seems that the CEO is smart here.
JRE is one of the most listened to podcasts of all-time. If he were to give in to these staffers he would be doing far more damage to the company by alienating JRE's fanbase and inciting a possible lawsuit.
I really hope he stands his ground here, because if he does it will be very telling to the entire nation how much people don't give a shite about social justice issues.
Let them quit. They can go stack trusses for $14 an hour while unemployment is relatively high.

So because he gets some things wrong (which thousands of podcasts do I'm sure) he deserves to get censored because there are sheep that will just take whatever they hear on a podcast as truth? Yeah, frick that. Censorship is bad, very bad. I guarantee these employees are not going to strike because he's incorrect about something, it's about him saying something that goes against their ideals. I was having a discussion with my buddy last night about how I'm able to give the benefit of the doubt, hear both sides of a story, etc and some of our leftist 'acquaintances' are incapable of this. They hear what they want to hear and often stretch or morph it and then that's the only thing they see.

Close the damn office then and move it to Dallas -- like the rest of corporate America. What the f do Spotify staff do anyway?
