My roommate in College was gay as hell.
He also studied to be a priest before coming out then switching to going to college.
Honestly..it may be just that. Instead of accepting their sexuality, they take the cloth out of fear of being what they think isn't acceptable. Eventually the temptation overtakes them and alter boys seem the easiest targets.

They aren't born priests. They choose their profession.
You probably have two main types:
A.) Homosexuals that are trying to repress their urges and join the priesthood.
B.) Homosexuals that want to use their position for cover and to gain easy access to victims.

Some have targeted girls too. I know of one priest still in service in the Lafayette Diocese who targeted teen girls and the Diocese has known since the 1980s. The official Diocese position is that the age of consent for girls under Canon Law is 14, so he never did anything wrong.

They are repressed gays. What guy would give up sex with women for his entire life if he wasn't trying to stifle gay urges because jesus doesnt like that sort of thing.
All my life I was told that god calls special people to the priesthood. Seems like with god being taken out of schools he is finding other methods of getting himself in to children.
