Some have targeted girls too. I know of one priest still in service in the Lafayette Diocese who targeted teen girls and the Diocese has known since the 1980s. The official Diocese position is that the age of consent for girls under Canon Law is 14, so he never did anything wrong.
Who is the priest?
Msgr. Robie Robichaux, whose personal familiarity with Canon Law has led to his appointment as Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Lafayette.
Bump for those who read the news.

Gay conspiracy, they hate that homosexuality is condemned by the Church, so you get 50 of your 6 million gay population to be priests and destroy from within.
There have been writings about this going back to the 1930s.
These men KNOW that this behavior is against all the vows and promises they make, and against clearly articulated Church teaching. They have done it anyway.
What is horrible is that their bishops at first didn't know how to deal and simply tried to avoid scandal, leading to "cover-ups" later on, there were several of the bishops, as we see now with Cardinal McCarrick, who were or ARE part of this aberrant gay sub-culture within the hierarchy.
We all know what happens in any institution when the situation continues to change and ends up being a "fox guarding the hen-hose" problem. Good, honest, holy, upstanding folks get trampled for making waves. Just look at this week, with Archbishop Viganó being targeted and trashed by Cardinal Oullet (Montreal, very influential) and Cupich (Chigago, Francis' man, very influential.)

The majority of these abuse allegations arose in the 60s before girls were allowed to be alter servers. This conflates with a time when homosexuality was still forowned on by society and gay men were in close proximity to impressionable teenage boys.

God calls them to be priests.

He does.
But humans have free will, and exercise it in wrong or sinful ways despite vows and promises. This is not on God, it's on sinful men making evil decisions.

It was that way from the beginning. Homosexuality between older men and young boys was popular during the Roman Empire, and when Catholicism became the state religion, it naturally absorbed those characteristics. The art depicting Christ in quasi-erotic poses, the boy sopranos, it's always been there.
