Spinoff from MSB. Who is/was the better athlete, you or your father?

My dad was a very good HS basketball player and played hoops in a rec league well into his forties. He picked up golf and tennis in adulthood and was pretty good as well. I played HS football and was only on the team because it was a small school and they needed all the bodies they could get. I work out and am in pretty good shape, but that doesn't take ability, just determination. I have a 14 year old nephew who will probably have a chance to play college football at some level if he keeps growing, so the athletic talent definitely skipped a generation in my family.

Me, but neither of us are anything special.

Probably my father, but neither one of us are/were athletes. I could beat him on the N64 though.

My dad played in the band at LSU, was a music nerd. Never played sports mainly because of a his shitty father who neglected/abused him.
Sports came naturally to me and I learned from coaches and friends. My dad was always supportive tho. I'm a better athlete than my dad ever was. However, I'm a musician too and my dad is way better than me in music.

Pop was voted best athlete and best physique in his small school. All of his boys were fairly athletic. My younger brother was a very good three sport athlete who went to college on a basketball scholarship

Toss up. Dad was dunking his freshman year of high school, but he wouldn't be able to catch up to a 90 mph fastball.

My dad, easy. He set my high schools record for fastest mile. I, on the other hand, would only run a mile if it was to get to my favorite burger joint.
The only sport I could ever beat him in was tennis because I had better hand eye coordination and could anticipate shots better than him.

My Dad was a high school football letterman. I won district cross country my sophomore junior and senior year and district mile and 2 mile jr and Sr year. Was 8th at state 5A cc (texas) my Sr year and 4th in state 5A 3200. Ran for LSU.....so if you consider skinny arse distance runners athletes.....I would get the nod.

My father tore his knee up his junior year as an option quaterback.. He never played team sports again.. I was an all district two way lineman.. We both peaked at different times as scratch golfers so in the end.. I'll call it a push

My dad. Played three sports in high school, lettered in football and baseball. Quarterback, star pitcher and catcher when he wasn't on the mound.
I found a scrapbook my mother kept on him and when Easton would play Jesuit in baseball the articles written about the game and my dad were pretty impressive.
Never went to college, joined the Air Force and played baseball for his base and was mvp.
I on the other hand sat the bench in the baseball team in high school

It's hard to say really. He beat the second ranked HS player in Tennis in Alabama his senior year, a decent football players, and was the best basketball player in his HS. But his parents didn't believe in organized sports.
Physically, I'm fairly certain I was more of a natural athlete than he was.
I'm one of those who puts on muscle, when I actually hit the gym, like Rosie O'Donnel puts on fat at a Quincy's. I was good at baseball when I was younger, but hated it. Never had the chance to play football because I was always in private schools that didn't have it. But at my peak physically(19y.o.) I ran a 4.7 at 245 lbs, and was able to do things like walk around while carrying 400 lb above ground pool walls. I was a good shooter in basketball, but only 5'10, and I was the size of most highschool nose guards at 255 in highschool. A good bit softer 255 than when I was older. Though I was, and am still, surprisingly agile for a big man. Which actually leads to the next bit...
I've been on crutches 16 times for ankle injuries, I have huge calves, but tiny ankles that love to twist at nothing*. Xrays look like mine field from the bone chips and spurs. Also, have basically had my right shoulder rebuilt, and had an MRI on my hip on Friday for pain that has slowly been getting worse, and more consistent, since I was 18. Also, as early as this past March I weighed 317 lbs. Though I have been working on that. 260 now. Woot!
If any younger guys read this. Take care of your body, unlike me. I thought I was invincible, but small nagging injuries add up quickly. Plus I never used a weight belt while liftin anything, ever. My back advises one.
*For example. I broke my right ankle about 3 months ago. ON OUR frickING RUG.
I didn't include our golf careers, cuz it doesn't really count for this discussion. Does it?
Also, probably not NB4 the "every OTer and their dad is amazing", sarcastic comment.

I'm a better all around athlete than my dad. But I'm not as strong as my dad was at this age.
