My dad didn't play any sports so I win by default. I wouldn't consider myself much of an athlete though. My little sister was the best natural athlete in my family

It's complicated:

My dad skipped two grades (3rd & 7th) so he was way young for his High School sports. But he ended up graduating in the Class of 1942 and went to a JuCo for a year and a half (until he was 17 1/2) and was pretty good at the JuCo level (in comparison) because most everyone else there playing sports was 4-F.

I was always the youngest in my class and after my Second Grade year the school folks asked my parents if they could double-promote me. My dad said "no" as he didn't want to be responsible for another World War (kidding), really to prevent me from going through what he did in High School as being so young.

tl/dr: Me, he's dead. He can't argue the point.

My father. Played hockey and was a linebacker for Michigan. Also excelled at tennis. I sucked at sports.

My dad. Easily.
4 sport letterman in high school.
MVP & captain of SEC football team his 5th year.

I remember thinking I was fast and challenged him to a 40 yard dash. He didn't have too much trouble proving me wrong.

I can however out shoot him slightly bird / duck hunting. But only slightly.

My dad had an offer to play football for Ole Miss and I didn't start in high school.

In my defense, the guy who did start my position starts in the NFL

My dad was without a doubt the better athlete although I went a lot further with my athletic/football career

A push i would say. My dad played basketball but could have played any sport. He grew up on a farm and had to work after school. He was more of an outdoorsman. Hunting and fishing.
I was good at baseball (several MVPs) but mostly due to effort and hard work. Took up Bowling my senior year in high school. Made the LSU team and was a four year starter. Traveled around south and mid west bowling money tournaments for many years.

My father was a national champion water skiier in the early 70's in slalom and kite. I was a better all around athlete than him though.

Dad played JUCO basketball and I played D-1 golf. I'm not really sure to be honest.

My Dad not even close
Three sport letter man at LSU back in late 20's early 30's. Played at Istrouma some semi-pro baseball with the Yankee's.

Me.....Meh....played football through HS & attempted badly to play basketball......two undefeated JV basketball teams at CHS. I had absolutely nothing to do with the results.

On team with Ed LeBlanc, SJ Saia and a few other really good players....

Not sure if he played sports or not, do know he was Army Airborne so it would be close.

Absolutely my dad, he still holds numerous weightlifting records at his HS. My youngsr cousin attended the same school and was the closest anyone has ever come to beating them. We both wrestled and he coached me but he is a much much better athlete than I ever was. But on the flip side I got the book smarts game locked down for sure

Mine was too, he was in pretty good shape when Uncle Sam signed his paychecks.

My dad was a pro baseball player in the 30's before he joined the Navy for WW2 so, it would be him.

Dad by a mile. High School QB, JUCO 1st baseman & golf team member, won first club championship at our CC.

I could whip him on the basketball court but that was about it.

I was the only athlete in my family. We were farmers and they thought it took away from work time and therefore a waste of time that could be better spent feeding livestock and planting soybeans.

depends on which of these 2 do you think is a better athlete

- 5' 10" 2nd basemen at a small DII college (my dad)

or

- 6' 2" 2nd team all-state basketball player, 1st team all state in track in the 400m, and decent XC runner (me)

my Dad would probably say I was the better overall athlete and I guess I would agree
