Worked a few years in Bismarck, ND. By far friendliest city I’ve been to.

In fairness South Louisiana is pretty distinct from the rest of the deep south.

I don't think southern hospitality is fake, I just don't think other areas necessarily deem being outwardly social as politeness like we do here. Which is something of a shame, because within reason I do think it's a more pleasant way to go about life.

Nicest folks that I have encountered were in the Bloomington/Normal, Illinois area.

Midwest hospitality wasn't southern hospitality, but pretty damn close.

Yeah "friendly to your face, trash talk behind your back" is still arguably better than "cold to your face, trash talk behind your back" isn't it?

Fort Collins Colorado, granted most people are friendly after a few beers, some live music and generally nice weather (and also possibly some high quality, easily purchased, american grown marijuana)

Everywhere in the midwest. Midwesterners are hands down the most hospitable.

TBQH, coming from a lifer below the Mason-Dixon... I don't find a lot of places all that friendly--moreso, condescending to others.

The UP and Wisconsin folks are nice as shite. The Central Valley of Cali and North Cali as well.

The NE is full of assholes.

The SE is friendly if you’re in the right areas.

The SW is ok.

PNW people are disgusting and should be avoided.
