Depends. Would you rather get lied to or know how people really feel about you. If someone doesn’t like me that’s fine but don’t lie and say you do

I can agree with Boise being one of friendliest cities. I have lived in multiple states and will say Oregon was by far the friendliest state i have lived.

Patterson, La.

I may be biased because it’s my home but I’ve been a lot of places the last few years and haven’t seen anywhere where the people are as genuinely warm and inviting.

Reality is that I don't actually care what about what someone I have a fleeting interaction thinks or says about me when I'm gone (unless I deserve it). If someone I meet for 10 seconds is going to talk about what a nerd I am when I walk away - who really cares?

But I'd certainly prefer a brief interaction be pleasant, even if it's just a front. Who wants to deal with harsh/cold people all the time?

Not all, but most La ppl are nosy, small minded, and can only think within their La walls, so they try to get as much gossip material as they can by being “friendly”

PNW people are disgusting and should be avoided.

The “Seattle Freeze” is absolutely, 100% real. People here are cordial, but not friendly. They are cliquish and very guarded. I’ve lived here 22 years, but grew up in Atlanta.

Folks in Portland are much nicer than Seattle.

In all seriousness with the current events, I visited Minneapolis once and the people there were so damn friendly. They even have a local beer called Grain Belt, with the motto “The Friendly Beer”

Milwaukee... I was absolutely shocked honestly

I went there for work years ago and was pretty surprised too. Went to a bar by myself and was friends with practically everyone in the place by the time I left. Didn’t pay for a single drink. Was also surprised by above average attractiveness of all the women folk too.

Two Contenders:

1. Belfast, Maine - Felt like I was on the set of a movie.
2. Flagstaff, Arizona - incredible location, smallish city with a university. Great feel. Would consider retiring here.

Everywhere in the midwest. Midwesterners are hands down the most hospitable.

TBQH, coming from a lifer below the Mason-Dixon... I don't find a lot of places all that friendly--moreso, condescending to others.
the Midwest has all of the hospitality and politeness of the south but much, much less condescension and classism
