Spin off topic - What is the lowest amount you have paid for a car?

During my last year of college back in 1989, someone hit and totaled my car. Since I was pretty broke at the time, I took the insurance money and used it to help pay my last quarter of tuition. I only had $900 left, so bought a 1978 green Corolla Station Wagon. It was quite the chick magnet. (sarcasm)
What is your cheapest car ever?

My first car when I got out of boot camp in 2009 was a 1991 Buick Century that I paid $500 for. Lasted me about a year

In 1985 - I paid $500 for a 1972 VW bug in beautiful primer, surface rust, and faded blue paint.
I think I could run faster than that car.

Like $250
It was a Ford ranger pick up - my dad died with one payment left, and then I paid for it to be transferred to my name

First car I bought with my own money was when it I was junior in college. Used Toyota Celica for about $4,500, if I recall correctly. My prior vehicle, a Mustang bought by my parents, was totaled in a freak, golfball-sized hail storm.

Needed a car my sophomore year at LSU after my car threw a timing chain and destroyed itself. I was POOR. So poor I was thinking of dropping out and joining the Army. My girlfriends dad got me a job and told me a lady that worked for him had a car she was looking to sell. He shared that it had belonged to her husband who died in a helicopter crash flying out to a rig. He said it was a Chevy Blazer. I showed up at her house and it was a 1974 (or 76 I can't remember) Chevy K5 Blazer. Red with the white removable top that went all the way to the windshield and not the later type that had the metal roof over the front seats. But this truck was a piece of CRAP. They had previously lived in CO and there was rust everywhere. But I wanted to be nice since it had belonged to her husband. She said she hadn't driven it in five years. We jumped it and it ran great. 350 roared. Four wheel drive worked. I asked her how much and she said "I don't know. How about $250?" I wrote her a check and had the truck for five years. Replaced a water pump and put tires on it. Best and toughest vehicle I ever owned. Sold it for $600.

$350 (literally) for a wrecked and rebuilt saturn sedan with mismatched body parts and whatnot, speedometer didn't work, interior was shite. My gf (now wife) drove it for close to ten years. There's a dark backstory to the car too but I will have to get behind a computer to type all that out.

Bought a 10 year old Chevrolet Cavalier from my stepsister for $400 and drove it for about 3-4 years. Traded it in when I bought a Highlander and the dealership gave me $300 in trade.

Let’s put it this way. If you filled it up with gas, you doubled the value.

First car when i turned 16 was a 93 ford ranger
Think my parents paid $5000, only had like 50000 miles on it. Was for some old man that just drove around town with it for 8 years.

I had a few vehicles that were given to me when I was young but I think the cheapest vehicle I've ever purchased was like 8k. It was brand new too

I paid $800 for one of those Chevy/Toyota Nova/Corolla cars made mostly by Toyota. I put almost 170,000 on that thing.
