They actually have a storm going across gulf coast next week or so
That’s probably what he’s hinting at it
Probably a rainmaker for gulf coast looks like last landfall in Texas but Louisiana could get wet

So Laura and Ida, tied for strongest storm to ever hit Louisiana, weren’t major storms?

I admit I was baited into that. I said there hasn't been strong storms in the past few years. Then the he went on list every storm for the past nearly 20 years (most weren't strong). Of course Loara and Ida were on the strong side but made to look worse due to improper building methods. Naturally occuring big storms don't always space themselves out perfectly every decade. They sometimes happen erratically. NOT because I don't have a electric car.

It wouldn't surprise me to not have a major storm for the next decade. Which is normal. Tell that to the warming extremists though and they will lose their mind.

There'll be no more hurricanes in the gulf for the rest of the season.

Just so we're clear here, the "oldest" storm on his list was Michael from............2018. His list included: 1 Cat. 5, 3 Cat. 4s, 2 Cat. 3s, 2 Cat. 2s, and 1 Cat. 1.

Among those, was the earliest occurring Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic basin on record (Beryl), the first Category 5 hurricane to make landfall in the US since 1992 (Michael), the latest Category 3 hurricane to make landfall in Louisiana on record (Zeta), a Category 3 hurricane that broke pretty much every Intensification record on the books prior to an earlier landfall in Mexico (Delta), a Cat. 4 that is tied for the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the state of Louisiana (Laura), another Category 4 storm that would tie Laura (and others) as the strongest to make landfall on LA, and is second only to Katrina for damage caused in the state and caused $74.3 billion in damage total (Ida), a Category 2 storm that tried to become the slowest moving hurricane of all time, dumping huge amounts of rain and causing $7.3 billion in damage across multiple Gulf Coast states (Sally).

I admit I laughed out loud on this one. There’s going to have to be a LOT of activity to meet the predictions.

Still have nightmares from that one. Nothing like evacuating in the middle of a hurricane after and oak tree splits the house your renting in half. Fun times. I didnt think Sally would ever get out of the Mobile/Baldwin area. It also caught a lot of people off guard because it was a low end cat 1 a day or so before landfall, if I'm not mistaken and steadily got stronger right up to landfall. I was surprised it was upgraded to cat 3 strength afterwards.

Models have basically nothing over next 10 days too. Pretty quiet for what was supposed to be a highly active season

We’ve been fortunate. We’ve had two storms race across the gulf into Mexico without turning north, one that turned north immediately into Florida before it could cook in the gulf, and one that spun north immediately after the Burmuda High to race towards fricking Newfoundland. It’s not like there hasn’t been legit activity.

Laura was a borderline cat 5 but yea it was the building codes that made it bad

That just how it goes
From Andrew in 92 until 05 LA didn't get with anything major. Lily was pretty weak in 02

Then you had 08 with Gustav and Ike but then had a pretty big lull until 2020

And that’s how you murder someone online.

No name calling.

Just cold dispassionate facts exposing someone’s horrifically poor logic and argument structure.

And you saved me a bunch of typing.

Legend is my nominee for OT poster of the month.

I couldn’t get a hold of my insurance adjuster for a few days after Sally hit (Had a claim for Laura)… eventually she made contact and apologized. Even though she a had a Texas number, she was working in Mobile.

That year frigging sucked.
