I want to say that $14 and some change goes to ESPN out of your monthly bill and the next most expensive channel is like $6.

And Disney knows they have all the leverage this time of years. Fans will lose their minds at the distributors if they can't watch their CFB or NFL team. Disney gets all of about 5% of the angst.

IPTV, $25 bucks and a metric shitton of channels. Watch anything, from any local network.

Just get cable. So much more reliable and it’s 1 click to switch channels to keep up with more than 1 game playing at the same time.

And SEC Network is part of the Disney-ESPN package - that is also blocked.

I'm black-listed with the satellite providers. Too many tall trees. I called every couple of years to see if they would try again and they almost hang up on me.

Spectrum is cable. And no ESPN

ESPN needs to stop paying these conferences ridiculous amounts of money for television rights. It ultimately comes out of our pockets.

Those conferences would sign a deal with someone else. ESPN's entire business strategy is that they have a near monopoly on cable sports, especially college football.

This was my argument for cable, with my wife wanting to “cut the cord” years ago. When I clicked to espn on my cable, it wasn’t available.

Haha....AT&T/Uverse has created a channel just for informing people of the channels that are currently blacked out due to contract negotiations.

My reasoning has always been convenience. ESPN and the SEC Network are simply easier to access via the cable channels, given that and the DVR I’ve always kept it. I’m pretty sure this is the catalyst I needed to cut the cable completely.

Streaming isn't any cheaper is the problem now. If you are aggressive at calling for discounts

Wait what channels are they blacking out on att/U-verse? I don’t see anything blacked out but if it is about to happen let me know.

This always plays out the same way.

Cable company/satellite/streaming service fights media conglomerate.

Customers get mad at cable/satellite/streaming service.

Cable/satellite/streaming service caves to price increase.

Cable/satellite/streaming service passes price increase to customers.

Customers get mad about price increase and cancel cable/satellite/streaming service.

It sucks but Disney pulls ESPN right now for a reason.

I don't have CBS and NBC was off for a bit. I think there may be one or two others.

I turned the TV on this afternoon and a message was on the screen telling about the new informational channel. I had to exit out of it.

That's not how ESPN+ works.

ESPN+ doesn't give you access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, or ACCN content unless you also get that via another provider.

It gives you access to ESPN+ content.
