Meet me at Driskill Mountain before daylight baws. I know a back way up to the summit. We'll carve some turns in that powder before the lift lines open.

Last snow we got in MS the weather guy kept saying no snow just a cold rain and then it snowed 8 inches in about 8 hours

At least he didn’t promise 8 inches and deliver 0 inches.

Who would be more disappointed his wife or his boyfriend?

Or this Jeopardy Contestant from Houston...

Friend,

Exactly. I get my weather from Mother. While the computers and “professional” meteorologists, modern day astrologist who hide behind what code, rather than cards, tells them, Mother knew Front Day would be delayed and we would have an active tropical season until that day. She was right. We did not have an early Front Day nor an early end to tropical weather.

You will be excited to read soon what is happening.

Yours,

I don’t know why I get my hopes up for stuff like this every year. I know I’m just going to be let down.

At the same time, last time there was a pattern like this, they predicted cold rain and maybe some snow. Lake Charles ended up getting 2.5” overnight.

Add in the two major hurricanes this past season, I fully expected to see some 6-8” of snow in south Louisiana at some point. I’ll be honest though, I really thought it would have been a terrible ice storm.

Winter isn’t over yet though.

I think the southeast is entering a favorable stretch where there might be 2-3 threats for snow over the next few weeks somewhere in the southeast. The GFS is hinting at a potential higher-end snow event around January 20th that could impact much of the southeast, but that’s a long way out and could simply go away or change dramatically.

The key point for southeast snow fans is that the pattern seems to be entering a favorable stage for some snow chances.

I wouldn’t mind having another 2008 type snow on the Northshore. That was the GOAT.

The overall pattern for most of this month is about as good as you can ask for in the eastern US for winter weather.

so fricking true - I remember the forecasts in Birmingham not really showing much at all, and then it dropped like 8 inches and everything iced over - and by the time they got the warning out, people were stuck at work, kids stuck at school - roads crippled and thousands of cars abandoned.

As I told 1 of my good friends who I was discussing this topic with when he said basically the same thing...

I don't care about it sticking... I just want to watch it fall and turn the grassy areas white for a bit

Where we at 1 day closer? Still looking like a possibility for wintry precipitation in CenLA? Specifically Ellick?

I've seen snow the same amount of times in 5 years in CenLA as I have the like 25 years I lived in NOLA
