i hear occasional "scratches" (that almost seemed rhythmic for a moment), but nothing else.

Didn't hear a thing.

ETA - slight hum when I turn the volume all the way up like a refrigerator running 10 feet away. It definitely didn't bother me.

They should try >20kHz. I'm 35, and I can still hear 18kHz after years of loud music and guns.

I played it didn’t hear anything then my 8 year old hollers from the kitchen, my ears are ringing!! Lol guess it does work. The dog ran off too.
