How the frick do you 'destroy a technology'? Did NASA Death Squads track down and burn all the rocket blue prints, hunt and kill the engineers? What the frick?

The technology was destroyed?

You mean a slide rule and a #2 pencil on a yellow note pad?

The tech is obsolete and all the people who knew anything about it have died.

This could be true because the best engineers were the Nazis we took and they have been replaced by retarded diversity hires. None of them have the autism AND altruism necessary to clean every metal filing off every part so the filing doesn't vibrate off and cause a short elsewhere. The most important technology was genetic and it's gone.

The factories to build parts for the Saturn v mostly shut down after nasa pulled funding. After Skylab IBM totally redid its Nasa liason office. The companies that stayed with nasa went full in on the shuttle program. The factory that assembled the Saturn V's huge tanks in New Orleans was now outfitted to build fuel tanks for the shuttle program.

Nasa works on a fixed budget. Now I totally believe at ANY point since 1974 the government could have built up a program to get back to the moon within a few years. Issue was no one wanted to fund it. We were supposed to have gone back in 2016 but the Orion project was killed by Obama.

This kind of reminds me on the random thread meme that pops up on here every few years about how many crucial computer systems around the country are still based on ancient programming languages that few people today know how to code in.

They have never been to the moon. They would know for sure earth is flat had they gone.

Meh, the knowledge is still there.

SpaceX rockets are based on previous designs and ideas.

As Elon has said, the hard part about building a rocket isn't designing it... it's manufacturing it.

That may have been what they meant by destroyed. Not the ideas, but all the tools, etc that you need to actually make it.

The Soviets knew we never made it. They kept their mouth shut because they were worried we’d reveal that their leadership were lizard people.

If NASA says we did something there’s pretty good odds that we didn’t.

If we did actually go to the moon then this is the first time in human history where technology went completely backwards.

Fortran is still prevalent and fewer people know how to code in it than ever before.

Oh, he emailed pictures of it to a bunch of people about 10 years ago.

He's definitely Asian.

That's what I've been saying for years. All six lunar landings occurred within a four year period FIFTY years ago!
We haven't even gone beyond low earth orbit since December 1972.
Meanwhile, all other fields have progressed by leaps and bounds.
