Porn drove VHS over beta, and then Blu-ray over HD-DVD...true story

I'm old, and even more old-fashioned in so many ways. This is great. It is a shame that gratitude, even for a business transaction that benefits both parties, is such a dying thing.

Great letter CSB

I was a little surprised to read that he/she had a recording of their wedding.

I’ve got quite a few old porno tapes I’d love to send that guy.

Man I wish my family wasn't so poor when I was a kid. Not one VHS tape of me or my family from when I was growing up. My granddad was a Polaroid whiz though.

After moving house recently I found an old VHS tape of my grandparent's 40th wedding anniversary party from 1986. It was nice to see and hear so many people who are no longer with us. I really do miss them and will be transferring the tape to DVD soon in case something happens to the original. It was also something my kids enjoyed as well, to see their great-grandparents and their old man when he was only seven years old.

I guess it's just weird (sad?) to me that this is to be deemed noteworthy.

I don't even mean that as a slam on you.

transferring the tape to DVD

I need to do this as well. I have a box full of old tapes my parents shot with an over the shoulder type VHS camera back in the day. The set runs from early 80's through about 1995.

Last time I hooked up an old VCR and watched them about 4 years ago I cried like a little baby. I'm 38 with 2 kids and seeing myself as a kid was too much. Getting choked up thinking about it right now...

I thought it was going to be "I found your home porno movie in the VHS, and I will release it online unless you would like to buy the rights back to it for 100 bitcoins."

Nice gesture of the letter, but still savvy enough to navigate through an eBay auction and PayPal I guess.
