Looked cool, but camera pics were nothing.

Got just enough break in the clouds here in Shreveport to get some glimpses. As cloudy as it's been all day, it didn't hit the same as the gradual dimming would have on a clear sunny day. But I wasn't expecting to see anything through the clouds today.

That red blip at the bottom is the solar flare that is headed to Earth to finish us off.

It was cloudless in west/central Arkansas. This meteorologist scored a bunch of points getting people to bail on Texas and drive up here.

Words can’t describe that as an experience. First time I’ve ever seen a total eclipse and it was worth every single penny I paid to come to Texas for it. It went from daytime to complete nighttime within a minute. Stars were visible all over the north Texas sky at 1:43pm.
I just simply will never find the words to describe the feeling of witnessing that in real time.

Nah man, that was one of the sun demons we were launching rockets at. Looks like a hit.

Whole lotta nothing here in Charleston. Maybe a little bit less bright out but not significant.

I was visiting my daughter near Indy. Had no idea about the eclipse when making plans.
I have to admit, it was pretty damned cool. No clouds or obstruction

i'm not a space nerd and it's not a life changing thing, but there's definitely a rush from "oh look, the sun's partially covered" to "getting kinda dark at 1 PM," to complete darkness, 20 degree temp drop, and birds start going nuts. Seeing the planets/stars and the red flares on the outside of the ring is for sure a once in life time thing.
won't think much of it tomorrow but it was a special event for that moment in time.

This was not a scientific or astronomical event for me - it was a spiritual experience.
You would not be the first, many humans view this spiritually today and even in the past, especially ancient past.

Made the mistake of looking at Fox weather - every city - the reporters sound like they are having sex for the first time with climax.
Each one trying to orgasm better than the last.

Did you have glasses? Just looking straight into the sun isn't going to look cool

I haven’t really looked directly at the sun since I was a kid, so I pulled a Trump for a second. Man that was bright, regret that. These glasses really work

Sounds cool. In NWLA, don’t know how to phrase it, but it was the best eclipse I’ve seen recently (best = most sun coverage). I do recall one in 1986-ish that was close and might’ve been a little more sun coverage.

Absolutely beautiful. Going from dusk to complete night time was amazing. The birds chirping, night lights going out....

Got totality in Conway, AR with no clouds. It’s always a great experience! Now for that long-arse drive home…

Glad I didn't have to travel. 100% totality was cool, but short lived.
