Big deal on our neighborhood Facebook page. A neighbor got outdoor lighting installed with lights on his trees, the columns of the house, in the flowerbeds, etc. The next door neighbor is accusing this neighbor of “light trespass” because some of the lighting shines into his home. This is some serious white people/first world problem shite here. I Googled it, and sure enough, it’s a thing.

Did you think you could set up a huge spotlight shining directly into your neighbors window or put a huge neon sign on your house?

Is that in the same league as "light treason"?

So rather than talk to the neighbor, they went to the HOA FB page?

Had a storm blow one of my spot lights out of whack, causing it to shine on a neighbors house. I didn't realize it until she rang the door one night and very politely let me know.

I guess I should have thanked her for not pressing charges.

This is why I could never live in a neighborhood.

As usual, having a polite conversation with the neighbor like adults isn't anywhere on the table of solutions.

Is there a such thing as noise trespass? Asking for a friend...

Big Lee would have had a big LSU neon sign if he'd thought of it.

Shoot them out seems like the simplest solution.

That's so last century. Passive-aggressive facebook posts are how it's done.

Because this issue runs rampant in neighborhoods across the country right?

Most cities have ordinances governing light and noise.

This shite drives me crazy. People will post about a barking dog on the facebook page instead of going over and knocking on the door. Not sure what they think they're accomplishing
