So, I guess that means I am officially the father. Unless it’s some sort of evil passive aggressive way to tell me I’m not.
Regardless of the recent stories of these uncovering decades old affairs and even the accuracy of such tests, how do we feel about the constitutionality of such databases being collected? It’s awesome they caught the Golden State Killer running his DNA against one of these sites’ databases, but is it a slippery slope? Could my great grandson for example, get “pre”-arrested Minority Report style if they are able to somehow determine a “violence” gene or some such. Could they just start pre-emtively rounding up folks who share the “criminal” gene?
Anyway, while cool on the surface to see some potential interesting results—and I don’t anticipate turning into a rapist/murderer at this point in the game—do I really want my DNA(and therefore all my descendants’ DNA) stored in some future(you know it’s coming) federal database?

Don’t do it.
It’s just a user-funded genetics data gathering scheme.

That's pretty long post just to try to prove to us that your wife and kids don't hate you.
Take it back for some socks.
DNA is a hoax.

Just spit in the tube and send us your DNA already...

Exactly. I forget the exact number, but if they get another million samples or so you won't have to send your genetic material to them, they'll be able to tell you what your make up is.

Check and make sure those kids are yours first

I got the 23&me kit. Which one did you get??

I've gotten wind that a few of my relatives were considering taking it. They've all disappeared in a weird fashion.
Anyways, I wouldn't take the chance to find out. Put some of your dog's saliva in there and ship 'er off.

It's a private business that user willingly submit data too. I don't see any legal issues with it. To me the problem is exactly what we're seeing blow up in the face of Google and Facebook. Those 2 made shite tons of money off of our personal data because we gave it away and now we're pissed at the shitty deal we didn't realize we had made. Just wait until your DNA starts being used by certain industries like your credit score. People won't just be giving away data that makes another company Billions, they'll have paid to give their data to them.

The government will be happy you sent in your DNA and didn't force them to come and take it under the guise of alien abduction.

Submitted DNA to 23 &Me. Found my biological mom and dad from 45 years ago. You better make sure you are mentally prepared for the unforeseen prior to submitting your DNA.

I’m not sure what the government will do with all the info they get from my house with my daughter yelling at Alexa to play Let It Go 224383837373 times a day.

They are looking for family bloodlines that carry the treasonous genes of the founding fathers. Once found, you’ll be tracked and put on the watch lists.
Also they are trying to figure out which of us have modified genes from all the years of alien abductions.

FYI I heard on a local talk radio station in Lafayette a story about a set of twins who completed the test kit and they got totally different results. How can that happen? I’m assuming that it’s not super accurate and wouldn’t put much stock in any results.

Yeah f all that data collection stuff. Worst part is that you sign your rights away with them. Essentially you are letting them make more money off of you w/o you knowing the way FB/Google/TD/etc do.

It was nice to ace a test for once

Quit trippin dawg. It’s your choice whether to do it. No constitutionality issue there.
