Someone could have bottle fed it and raised it. I've done that many times when a cow has twins and rejects one

Wonder why they couldn't have donated him to a zoo.

Last year, five visitors were seriously injured when they approached bison. Bison harm more visitors to Yellowstone than any other animal.

People in Yellowstone are so dumb when it comes to the animals, they are always getting way too close for pictures.

That's what I was thinking. Certainly some farm or sanctuary would have adopted the calf

Yeah, that's odd. They probably have a no interference policy with wildlife.

Also, the calf was already rejected if they got their hands on it. No way a protective mother would let them scoop him up.

The amount of moose attacks in Wyoming was getting absurd so they have this huge marketing push with signage everywhere explaining that moose are mean as shite

People think these parks are Disney world. They think park rangers drive around making sure the animals aren't too cold? It's nature. What an idiot that dad is.

I'm thinking euthanizing is interfering, but that's just me.

Bison don't see very well, especially straight ahead,to my understanding. He was just probably meaning to plow through the wolves.

You're over thinking it.

The calf should have been left alone. The tourist interfered. The rangers had to put it down after the fact.

In a "perfect world" nature would have run it's course by sundown.
