Weather has been one of the top factors that have always tempted me about moving out of state.

And how much of that was in May and June? (Probably a very high %)

Afternoon storms are normal. We've had a lot of morning rain and overcast days. Multiple days in July with highs 82-85 is not normal. Double edged sword obviously.

I remember in the late 80’s into the early 90’s, there seemed to be rain every damn day during the summers. Severe stuff, too. Everyone who was around then will remember the June 1989 Baton Rouge tornadoes. Then it scaled back for a long time. Might be some kind of cycle where we will see another six or seven summers of weather like this.

Yes, there is always the usual afternoon shower, but it’s been more severe and frequent this year.

My yard is starting to look like a Vietnamese rice paddy. Every time I look out the back door I hear “Fortunate Son” in my head and expect Charlie to pop up and start shooting.

My yard is swamp.

If we caught a storm like the 2016 storm, it would absolutely skull frick SE Louisiana.

Most of the major waterways in EBR still haven't gone back down to levels prior to that huge rain we had a few months ago

Definitely. My yard has been too soggy to cut for a few weeks now. I've been in my current house now for 11 years and have never had to go so long between cuts.

Yep. That's what I remember from those days, then it stopped for a while

We've been trying to get dirt work done since mid May.... Just missed the timing by a few days- now we've lost 4-5 weeks

I think it’s great. We’ve had one day in the last 21 where the high temperature has been above the historical average. I’m able to still bike and run in the mornings and late afternoon without it being absurdly hot and my AC isn’t on the brink of death. I hope this pattern continues into august.

What is scary is the daily low temperatures still persist above the historical averages.

No it hasn't been

We've beaten yearly rain totals for entire years typically and it's mid-July.

Second week of July, normally my sprinklers would be running pretty regularly by now. Maybe even every morning. Instead, they haven’t run all year. We are at a high for rainfall, but the additional lack of clear sunshine between storms is a different phenomenon. This isn’t “June Gloom”, we are getting a legit wet season.

Extremes are always tough to negotiate, I think I'd rather have this one than the dry extreme.

My personal properties have good positive fall to them, two or three days of no rain and I can mow.

Both weather extremes suck though.
