That's fantastic.

To the OP, just wear flip flops to the boat and go barefoot on the boat.

The worst thing you can do is buy a new pair of shoes and wear them for the first time on the boat. They will chew up your feet and you won't be comfortable.

I wouldn't recommend crocs, they can be slippery when fish slime and water get in them ... Causing issues when fighting fish.
Just IMHO.

I find this is way more of an issue in flip flops or bare feet. Flip flops are death traps on a boat. The deck gets slimy quick when you're catching fish, and that back of the ankle strap has saved me from busting my arse countless times.

Agreed completely. Which is why I was gonna pull the trigger now and wear them in a bit around the house over the next few weeks...

Never crocs. As mentioned, slippery as hell.

I go barefoot 99% of the time. The last trip we took though I wore "boat shoes" due to some arch issues. Good grip and I was pretty happy. I kicked them off from time to time.

Using this term makes me think you aren't much of an angler. Tennis shoes will be fine

Those Olukais look great. How's the traction with those shoes?

I find with most other shoes, my feet slip inside the shoe, the issue isn't with boat to shoe traction.

My feet slip a little in them but I have narrow feet so it's to be expected with any slip-ons.

Always barefoot from the moment I get on a boat. Keep your shite clean and you won't get a hook in the foot. I mean if it's a freak accident that a hook ended up on the ground right as you stepped, then the same thing can happen if a hook ended up between the gun wale and your crotch.

Crocks get slippery inside if the shoe. That's the problem for me.
