I don’t get why the Billy Baws north of I-10 have such resentment for Mardi Gras. Louisiana is the only state in this country that puts on a 2 week long party. It’s the single most unique celebration in any of the 50/51 states. I get it’s not for everyone but the hatred people have towards it is silly.

Carnival exists in many places in the world that have maintained strong Catholic populations. I'm not a religious guy, but I'm guessing most of the holidays you don't consider "made up" come from religious tradition. Are you a bitch about all of them?
