To compare this with handwashing is beyond ridiculous
Do not mock, what you have not studied.

It's also in saliva, so no heterosexual kissing.
Unless you have a 6 foot tongue, that's a given.

That's not a ritual....that's a good hygiene suggestion....it clearly states it right there in what you quoted.

Old Testament Law was in place for a nomadic people. That's why it revolves around cleanliness.
And our new set of "religious" laws are in place for a highly mobile people.
How does that make following rules written down by your neighbors, any different that what was done in Biblical times?

I don't believe these crackpots either. They are paid to be on TV and act. They are not paid to actually give rock solid info, and furthermore, since propaganda is legal, they can do it with impunity.
The medical community can't decide whether eggs are good or bad for you and have changed their minds over and over on the subject for the last 70 years, yet I'm supposed to listen to some person I never heard of tell me definitive info about a virus that is 6 months old? Yeah I don't fricking think so either.

As expected, atheists would miss the point.
I did not miss the point. I was pointing out how making religious references in the context of this "crisis" is as water-headed and thick-tongued as the people who believed Y2K or 2012 or pick your Armageddon Du Jour.
People are dumb pack animals, and sometimes the only way to get them to move on anything is some existential threat to every single one of them (see 9/11/01). This whole thing has provided shyster opportunists a chance to advance agendas or grift money from the window licking public, organized religion and government officials included.
Don't visit Gam-Gam for a few weeks, avoid crowds if possible, wash your hands. That should have been the extent of this just like it was with H1N1. Instead someone decided committing economic suicide was the better idea. That's what pisses me off. The ripple effect the shutdown has will cause wayyyy more damage to our country than the virus ever could IMO. This includes human life costs on top of economic impacts.
Something had to be done, yes. This response will likely prove out to be like lighting a cigarette with a SCUD missile.

guess the most hilarious thing is all of you accepting it because a doctor told you, but if it was a preacher, Oh Boy!
Yeah you’re right. I can’t think of one good reason to trust a doctor more than a preacher.

Once again, rules were developed throughout history, based on the level of learning available at the time. Yet atheists mock the OT rules, while sucking up the new "religious" laws that we are required to follow at this time.
And by the way, our news "laws" are in place are also due to good hygiene. So, again, no real difference than those OT laws.

Well, when it comes right down to what you are allowed to do, they are one and the same.
So just as the Bible says time and time again, you will be judged on where you ultimately place your faith. A bunch of "experts" that are just following computer models, or an "expert" who is following the role model of Christ.

absolutely

The frick, which clearly went over your head, is that you are swallowing the rules for your life by the learned men of your community today, while using the rules the learned men of society recommended 6,000 years ago, as a reason not to believe in a creative being.
I stated that you will be mocked in the future, for locking your arse in your home based on written rules from your "religious" leaders, but hell, I'm mocking you right now.

Now THIS is the discussion the board needed and not the stupid talk of bombing China or how you think you had the virus back in January.

Seems pretty harsh to wager eternal damnation on a guess of which of the thousands of religion is the right one.

Are neighbors and elected officials interchangeable in your scenario?

And some are just cooler than others, so why aren't they right? I think Apollo is a pretty cool god.

You just sit your arse at home like your "religious" leaders are telling you. And let the rest of us mock you for your ignorance and submission. Everything will be just fine.

There's a government that exists where your neighbors aren't your elected leaders? That kinda defeats the purposes of having elections, doesn't it?
