You know Ricky?
As a matter of fact I do. Not that well or anything. But I know of the place you’re talking about.
I grew up just a few miles from his place.

Watched the first episode of The 100 last night and that's the first thing I thought of.
Show seems weak, don't think I'm watching the second.

They busted a guy for $1.5mm for bringing in 36 deer from a CWD + State into a high fenced area and Irma blew down his fence in MS.

Pretty sure I never stated there had been a case? I just said it can be transmitted to humans.

This was for 6 deer brought in from Indiana.
quote:
According to the plea agreement, Skinner surrendered his Alabama Game Breeders License and agreed not to participate in the commercial deer breeder industry in the future. Skinner also agreed to pay a $100,000 fine, which shall be directed to the Lacey Act Reward Fund, and $650,000 in restitution to the State of Alabama.
quote:
The deer in question, fawns from a previously certified herd, rendered the farm and other deer disqualified from the program because of the lack of identification. The required identification is usually in the form of a numbered ear tag or tattoo. CWD has not been found in Alabama or Indiana, according to the United States Geological Survey National Wildlife Health Center.

1500° F is the temp of a crematorium. That's the point at which bones burn to ashes.
Prions are not alive. They're rogue proteins that cause normal proteins around them to refold to their shapes, making them destructive to the cells in which they're located.
If you have any doubt at all about the venison you're thinking about eating, the best move is to avoid eating it. While there are no documented cases of CWD in humans, the increasing number of deer that are affected makes the possibility more likely over time.

This was my first thought as well. I've never heard anyone call it that.

This is why I always boil my deer sausage before eating it.
So you think you are boiling sausage at 1500 degrees?

Duh
Just boil it 7 times longer than suggested.
