You Tube SNL Video

Like it or not, last night SNL did a skit featuring a couple who just returned from a trip to New Orleans.

Besides, the usual stereotypes of the city, getting robbed, voodoo, and getting obsessed with the way we talk, I found it to be rather funny.

It is a comedy show not a news program.

I’ll give you, it definitely is not a news program.

But it has been decades that SNL falls under the comedy spectrum.

Didn't laugh... not even once

Not even a smirk.

It was like bad improv

Almost as bad as their Lafayette skit a few months back.

Not remotely funny.

And I'm not being sensitive. At least Cajun justice (or whatever it's called) is a little better.

How often do they make fun of New York? California?

Asking because I do not watch.

ETA: Actually watched it and it was amusing. And they didn't poke fun at NOLA as much as the idiot couple.

Surprised they alluded to getting robbed because you know racism. SNL really is terrible now.

I thought it was funny. Every movie filmed down here butchers the accents and stereotypes.

That's the point of the skit. They're making fun of people who sterotype Nola.

SNL hasn't been relevant since 2002 and that's being nice. It really ended after the Farley and Sanders days but Will Farrell made it ok to watch unitl he left.

It’s amazing how bad Hollywood and the like, so called “professionals” can screw up actuality’s of New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole.

I don’t think I’ve laughed at anything SNL has done in the last 15-20 years.

Anybody who bothered to watch it would get this in about the first 30 seconds of it. I would say it makes fun of people who go vacation somewhere and feel the need to pretend like they know everything about that place after spending a few days there. And, like you said, they go way out of their way in an attempt to nail every stereotype about it to pretend like they're completely immersed in the culture.

Idea sounds funny talking about it, but when you have blah comedians who don't go out of their way to make it funny (like some of the SNL greats in the past used to) - you get very blah humor. That's what SNL is today - just memorize lines and throw on a costume.

It wasn't really funny. The funniest part was when he screwed his line up and had to hold it together because he wanted to laugh.

Made it through about a minute. Even New Orleans can't be as bad as nawlins.

I don't watch SNL, but years ago they did do a skit called "Californians" which was pretty funny.

But yes, I agree with the consensus... SNL sucks and it has for years. Political humor is funny, but it's basically anti-Trump propaganda at this point. Poke fun at Trump.. that's totally okay..just do it in a way that isn't totally biased against him. Or, IDK, make fun of these batshit Democrats once in a while.
