That was aired in 1992. So actually almost three decades after the Simpsons.

That's pretty funny but I think SNL is confused with this and a Baton Rouge accent.

They do sound like the vast majority of the hordes of carpetbaggers that have overtaken the city.

It's not supposed to be a New Orleans accent. That's the joke.

SNL is awful now. I watched the first minute and a half of that video and cringed the whole time. Every joke was horribly outdated and overplayed. Not a damn thing was funny. SNL has been robbed of all its talent it had in the glory days

I’ve never in my life wanted to drop kick two people in the face more than I do right now.

And I'm not being sensitive.

There are people in North Korea who laugh at how sensitive South Louisianans are about their regional image. The fact that several of you are indignant without even watching through the video or getting the point of the skit is precious.

That wasn't funny at all. Also, that was yet another reason why I stopped watching SNL many years ago.

Actually, being from New Orleans and living up North, I run into this a lot, not to the exaggerated degree, but the way people pronounce New Orleans afelter visiting is spot on.

Thanks for the replies.

I just thought of this.

I think they could have made this funnier if they would have put something about getting robbed by an NFL ref instead of a voodoo queen.

NB4 - SNL isn't as funny as when I use to watch way back when.
NB4 - I don't watch SNL anymore but I still call it terrible.
NB4 - I stopped watching after it became too political.
NB4 - It stopped being funny since Ferrel days, Farley days, mike Meyers days, Eddie Murphy days, original cast days.

It’s amazing how bad Hollywood and the like, so called “professionals” can screw up actuality’s of New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole.

Yes. Truly amazing. Most amazing thing I’ll probably see all week.
