Our grandson hates cantaloupe, he says to him it smells like nail polish remover. I thought no way, so got a really ripe one and.... it kind of does.

I tried a Limburger and Braunschweiger sandwich at a little cheese shop in southern Wisconsin a few years ago. Surprisingly decent.

In my medical residency, I learned to handle a lot of smells from necrotic diabetic foot, abdominal abscesses, to manual fecal disimpaction...
But one of the worst smells that made me step out of the room to keep from vomiting, was during my ER rotation when this middle-aged trucker came in for chest pain. He was overweight, and had been driving trucks for almost 10 years, was not in any distress just complaining of mild chest discomfort.
He was wearing cowboy boots that we had to remove to get him into a gown. He was not wearing socks and apparently had been wearing his boots for days because when we took the boots off. His feet and lower leg up to his boot line were completely white, covered with layers of fungus and dead skin. The smell was indescribable... the only time that I went NOPE, walked out, and wrote orders for the nurses to clean him up.
BTW, chest pain was reflux.

I used to work in produce...Rotten potatoes are even worse.
