My dog sleeps in my bed but I don’t sleep with her. That would be gross and illegal.

Constant battle in my house. I hate the dog in the bed, wife likes it.
6 year old daughter finally sleeping in her bed all night because dad plays 3d chess and suggested the dogs sleep with her to make her feel better about being alone. 6 months in and no dogs in my bed.

Trading cocktails once with some friends when one told us this: He was a steward for an airline, and a really hot stewardess revenge-fricked him because his buddy ditched her. He was eating “hair pie at the Y” (First time I heard that 35 years ago when he told us.) when her yippidy dog kept jumping up on the bed. He kept knocking the persistent dog off the bed, but finally gave up the prime position and the dog took right over. Point is, sleeping with her dog seemed to give HER pleasure.
Not swearing the story is true, but he had a way of telling a story, and he had the rest of us Holding our sides we were laughing so much. Good times!

Studies show that women get better quality sleep with a pup in the bed over a spouse.
We have small girls and I don’t sleep well on the rare occasion they sleep elsewhere.

Small women that share a bed with massive dogs freaks me out.
I used to work with a woman who was about 4'10" 95lbs and she told me she slept with her St. Bernard under the covers with her.
Just yikes.

I disagree based on the times I wake up at 3am where my pup has somehow curled himself directly into my stomach, putting my entire body into an S like curve barely on my king sized bed

Having my dog nearby definitely makes me feel safer. He’s a big fluffy friendly cuddler, but he’s also a great watch dog.

I love dogs, but hate what they do to a house and the responsibility of caring for them. My kids are a slight step above feral dogs in terms of cleanliness, I don’t need my shite getting more fricked up than it already is.
