Yeah the couch at the new one wasn’t bad at all.
My mom was at the old one for a month then my brother was there for two months. Used to love racing hot wheels down the big walkway ramp from the garage. And the hospital model was amazing to young Sun God.

We spent a good bit of time in Children’s NOLA NICU when my son was born with a birth defect. The NICU staff was amazing but holy shite you couldn’t sleep. The babies he roomed with never had the same vital/treatment/feeding schedule and it was as bright as the noon sun 24/7.
He had a follow up correction surgery at 3 months old so we had a regular room for recovery. Those night nurses spent 90% of the night shooting the shite and barely bothered us so that was nice. However, the sensitive pos medication pump alarm would go off randomly and wake everyone up. They tried to silence the damn thing at least dozen times while we were there. You can rest in a lot of places but a hospital generally ain’t one of them.

Never fall asleep at a hospital if you aren't the patient. Those places are full of thieves.

Place I was working for a decade+ had cancer treatment center and was in a generally elderly skewed demographic area so tons of old folks on opiates which slowed down their digestive tracts along with limited walking around/general exercise to keep the intestines moving along smoothly. Some days the blockages clearing could "be detected" 2 floors up and across the entire building.

i did this both times my wife gave birth. It's not easy but, it's something you have to do.

My god why even try.
Having many hospitalizations for cancer and what not I am very familiar with this. I had many doctors at MD Anderson say that you don't go to a hospital to rest which is ironic in the sense that in order to get out quicker you need help recovering.

I work at night, so I started sleeping with foam earplugs. Life-changing. I now use them when I’m home and sleeping at night.
Also, white noise on the phone will drown out the sounds that do make it through the ear plugs. I have a pair of eye covers to block light, but I black out my rooms so I don’t. really use the eye covers.
Tldr: get some ear plugs and soft eye covers.

I feel ya man. If you ain't getting the same drugs as the patient, a hospital is a bitchy place to crash.

Go hang out at the nurses station, catch up on all the crazy drama, and report back. Preferably with pics.
I love nurses. I was laying on a gurney in the hallway right next to the nurses station in the ER, covered in blood, half my face a mangled mess, yet here is a group of girls enthralled in a story of how someone called this nurse a 'twat-waffle'.
